The different types of razors

The razor market today is very rich in offerings! You can find all kinds of razors, including electric razors, straight razors, and safety razors.
Because of this wide range of choices, finding a razor that suits us becomes very difficult.
Here we will talk about blade razors because this is the category with the greatest diversity; 1 blade, 2 blades, 3 blades, up to 5 blades!

The number of blades affects comfort; the more blades, the more comfortable the shave. Yet the most commonly used razors are three-blade razors. Why?

From 3 blades, shaving comfort is very good and the difference in comfort between 3 and 5 blades is barely visible or even invisible! Indeed, the benefit provided by the 5 blades when shaving on easy-to-access areas such as the cheeks, is compensated by the precision and maneuverability of 3-blade razors for more difficult areas such as the mustache! The 5 blades obviously cost much more than the 3 blades, which pushes men to move more towards the best value for money!

Below three blades, comfort is no longer really there; hairs are pulled out, the razor doesn't glide well. Shaving well then requires many more strokes than necessary, which will seriously irritate the skin.

A 3-blade refill lasts approximately 12 to 15 shaves. The average price of a 3-blade razor head is €2.50.
For a 5-blade refill it is more expensive, around 12 to 15 shaves per refill but for a unit price of €3.50.

For a difference in comfort that's difficult to demonstrate between 5-blade and 3-blade refills, the price difference is not insignificant!
