As a cosmetic ingredient, the cosmetic active ingredient ascorbic acid - pure vitamin C is recognized for these properties:
Ascorbic acid or Vitamin C helps fight against the visible signs of aging and the marks of photoaging: wrinkles, brown spots, dull and uneven complexion, loss of firmness
A powerful antioxidant, vitamin C plays an important role in the fight against oxidative stress and free radicals, responsible for skin aging and caused in particular by exposure to the sun, pollution, tobacco, etc.
Inhibiting tyrosinase (the enzyme responsible for converting tyrosine into melanin), it helps reduce dark spots, for a even and bright complexion.
Anti-aging, it boosts the synthesis of collagen, one of the main constituents of the support tissue, and whose synthesis decreases with age. Vitamin C thus fights against sagging skin.
