Properties
Cold emulsifier: allows emulsions to be formed at room temperature, provided they are stabilized with a gum (Xanthan or Guar) in the aqueous phase
Co-emulsifier: used to stabilize emulsions in combination with another emulsifier
Texture modifier: gives a very silky feel and a rather fluid texture
Emollient: softens the skin
Film-forming: prevents skin dehydration, protects it from aggressions (cold, wind, humidity, dryness, etc.)
Very good affinity with the skin because the polar lipids (phospholipids and glycolipids) constituting lecithin are similar to those which form the membranes of our cells
Suitable for sensitive skin
Suitable for atopic-prone skin
Very good biodegradability (it is a natural constituent of many plants)
Type of emulsions
Mainly "oil in water" emulsions, but also "water in oil" emulsions using a high proportion of oil phase and a wax.
Skin type
All skin types, especially dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin
