How to whiten your teeth naturally? - [100% Tips] Teeth whitening

The different types of teeth whitening

Who hasn't dreamed of having white teeth? A sparkling smile and fresh breath are everyone's dream. That's why teeth whitening is important to us all! In this article, we'll take a look at several tips for whitening your teeth.
Today, dental treatments leave our teeth white and, above all, sparkling. However, many of these products end up damaging our tooth enamel, which is unfortunately irreversible. So why spend huge sums of money when the solution is right there in our cupboards?

There are different teeth whitening techniques.

Overall, they are divided into two distinct groups:
• vital whitening;
• non-vital bleaching.

Vital teeth whitening

This involves whitening living teeth.
The principle is to whiten teeth that have been stained by various foods, tobacco or have naturally lost their whiteness with age.

Non-vital teeth whitening

Non-vital whitening is carried out on devitalized teeth.
Since the blackening of the tooth is the result of treatment, the treatment is different from vital treatment and the whitening of the tooth will be done from the inside out.

Different teeth whitening techniques

There are three main types of teeth whitening techniques.
Your choice will be based on the number of teeth to be treated and the extent of their discoloration.

The three main existing techniques are:
application of a photosensitive whitening solution (it reacts when exposed to special light);
wearing a tray in which a whitening gel is placed;
• brushing with a mixture of toothpaste and whitening solution.
Whitening can be performed “in the chair” or “outpatient”.
"In-chair" teeth whitening:
The first is carried out entirely in the office in one or two sessions. The dentist creates, from an impression of the dental arches, a custom-made flexible plastic tray which then receives the highly concentrated whitening gel, for a duration which can vary from 20 to 90 minutes depending on the initial condition of the tooth. In some cases, the dentist may deem it useful to use a high-energy lamp or laser to activate the whitening process. It should be noted that the treatments carried out are painless.
“Outpatient” teeth whitening:
As for outpatient treatment, it is first implemented in the office with the making of these same trays and continued at home using a lower dose of hydrogen peroxide gel. The trays are preferably worn during the day and can last between 15 minutes and one hour/day, depending on the dentist's prescription. It is also possible, in extreme cases, to carry out a whitening session in the chair followed by a classic outpatient treatment. In principle, the results really appear after 15 days and are visible on average 4 years, depending on the patient's lifestyle (high coffee consumption, tobacco or not). In case of sensitivity, it is imperative to stop the treatment and consult a dentist to avoid damaging the nerve of the tooth.

Teeth whitening prices

Teeth whitening prices vary greatly depending on the technique used.
They range from €35 for kits to over €1,000 for sessions at a dentist, including sessions at smile bars ranging from €30 to €300.

More and more oral hygiene brands are developing ready-to-use kits, which can be used with proven quality, and at a much more affordable price (between €15 and €60).

Available in pharmacies and drugstores, these whitening kits also have a hydrogen peroxide-based gel, but it is much less concentrated than in the office.

Among the new products, three types of products:

Self-adhesive transparent strips : very practical and covered with 6% gel, they perfectly fit the shape of the teeth for uniform gel application;

• The gel with brush : it allows very precise application of the product, for selective use on a few teeth or parts of teeth for more localized coloring;

Disposable trays : hygienic and single-use, they are ready to use and do not require prior adaptation. They are usually supplied with individual doses of gel, which are ingenious and easily transportable.
Indeed, whitening your teeth is much easier than you might think. Naturally, and in just a few weeks, your teeth can regain incredible whiteness with these few natural and inexpensive tips. It should be noted, of course, that these tips should be used in moderation, as they could damage the enamel if used excessively.

Did you know that certain foods have the power to help keep teeth white?

Fruits (lemon, apple, strawberries, bananas, etc.), vegetables (carrots, celery, etc.), as well as baking soda, charcoal, and sea salt are said to have whitening and cleansing properties, which can be used over the long term without any problems.
Few people know that eating vegetables strengthens and whitens teeth. Biting into an apple strengthens gums and helps clean teeth naturally. Apples also help neutralize bacteria that cause plaque and bad breath.

Lemon is considered multifunctional: it whitens teeth, freshens breath and cleans gums by fighting accumulated bacteria that we cannot reach during brushing.
Strawberries are a fruit enjoyed by everyone, young and old alike, but they are especially excellent for whitening teeth thanks to their high concentration of enzymes.
When it comes to vegetables, carrots and celery are by far the best. Eating carrots and celery stalks is said to keep our teeth healthy, and they provide interdental cleaning comparable to flossing because they're high in fiber.
Baking soda is a simple way to get white teeth without using chemicals, and for next to nothing. Baking soda (made up of tiny crystals) has an abrasive action. It will attack stains on teeth and make them disappear.
Vegetable charcoal, used in powder form, is also excellent for teeth whitening. It is obtained by carbonizing certain types of wood and has been used in some countries for thousands of years. Safe for health, it can be used without moderation because, unlike other methods or more or less natural products, you can brush your teeth with charcoal every day until you are satisfied.
Finally, there's sea salt. Like bicarbonate of soda, coarse salt helps remove stains and, thanks to iodine, is also antiseptic and antifungal. Sea salt can be used every day.
These days, teeth whitening is accessible to everyone, at a very low cost, and is accessible to everyone, adults and children alike. But of course, it all depends on each person's teeth.

Have you dreamed of a bright smile, enhanced by pronounced white enamel? Current methods and products are constantly improving while respecting your teeth. From professional in-office treatments to home whitening kits, here's an overview of the techniques that work. The white tooth knows how to seduce.

A true promise of seduction and health, having a beautiful smile inevitably requires white and well-aligned teeth. However, various factors of a hereditary nature (natural discoloration or aging of the tooth), pathological (taking tetracycline during the period of tooth formation) or even due to lifestyle (consumption of coffee, tea, tobacco, wine, antidepressants, etc.) sometimes make scaling and stain removal ineffective. Whitening then becomes perfectly justifiable.

Although teeth are not naturally completely white, many people today resort to teeth whitening.
Normally, the natural color of teeth varies from person to person. It is usually ivory in color.
The whiteness of teeth remains relatively relative to the color of the skin, lips and gums which, by contrast, bring out the colors more or less.

Teeth whitening: some precautions.

Please note that teeth whitening involves lightening the shade of teeth. It is a cosmetic procedure that can be performed at home, in a specialized center, or by a dental surgeon. The products used to whiten teeth contain carbamide or hydrogen peroxide at varying levels. To achieve safe teeth whitening, it is imperative that all teeth are healthy. Indeed, the infiltration of chemicals can cause pain and, in the most serious cases, necrosis. More and more people are regularly resorting to teeth whitening sessions at their dentist's to have beautiful white teeth, but also in establishments, particularly in smile bars, or even at home. The DGCCRF and Afssaps are warning consumers about the practice of teeth whitening because the products used are not without risks for teeth.

White teeth for everyone!

Not everyone has teeth of similar whiteness.

Certain elements play an important role in the color of our teeth. Thus, by contrast effect, teeth will appear whiter in people:
• who have dark skin;
• who use makeup with rather dark pigments:
• foundation,
• lipstick.

Furthermore, teeth naturally tend to darken over time. Several factors explain this phenomenon:

• tartar, which is the calcification of dental plaque;
• devitalization of teeth (after treatment of a cavity for example);
• food: coffee, tea, sodas, red wine;
• tobacco consumption;
• certain drug treatments.

Brushing teeth with baking soda:

Baking soda is one of the most effective natural remedies for white teeth. Commercial toothpastes often contain it. Thanks to its fine particles, baking soda, combined with careful brushing, helps remove the stains that dull your teeth. It's a bit like a scrub!

You can use baking soda every day when brushing, but only for a short period of up to one week, by putting a little on your toothbrush. In this case, skip the toothpaste to avoid increasing the abrasive action, which could damage your teeth. Brush your teeth as usual before rinsing with clean water. You can find baking soda in pharmacies or health food stores.

To regain a dazzling smile, you can also use the radical measure, to have white teeth, by resorting to your dental surgeon: whitening strips, micro abrasion or bleaching (also called "lightening") with hydrogen peroxide, laser whitening... These methods for having white teeth, as radical as they are effective, only work on healthy teeth and gums, without decay, and, ideally, scaled. They are not harmless (because they weaken the teeth and there is a risk of devitalization) and quite expensive: not reimbursed by social security, the prior advice of a dentist is always mandatory. In addition, pregnant women are advised to refrain from using these techniques.

The most effective teeth whitening remedy

Having a healthy mouth and white teeth also requires optimal oral hygiene. Proper tooth brushing helps remove plaque, which is partly responsible for tooth discoloration, and reduces the risk of tooth decay. It is recommended to brush your teeth 2 to 3 times a day, ideally after each meal. It is also recommended to use a toothbrush that is suited to your needs, preferably soft or medium, because a hard toothbrush can damage the gums and eventually cause tooth loss.

Teeth whitening at what price?

From all the health advice you can read on the internet, the impression that emerges is that the stain is almost impossible, and that you have to deprive yourself of a lot of things (especially in terms of food) to achieve this result. In other words, you have to suffer and deprive yourself to be beautiful. But rest assured, it is possible to have white teeth by other means. Caliquo therefore offers you some answers to the question "how to have white teeth without depriving yourself?"

We have written a complete file on the teeth whitening which you can find right here: How to whiten your teeth?

How to get white teeth naturally?

First tip, the one you'd strangely never have thought of for having white teeth: brush your teeth thoroughly. You didn't expect that, did you?

All jokes aside, brushing your teeth properly isn't as simple as you think. For example, did you know that on a typical day when you work and don't have the opportunity to brush your teeth after lunch, it's better to brush them before breakfast rather than after? Indeed, some of the fluoride in toothpaste remains in your saliva, and helps keep your teeth white by protecting your tooth enamel against acidic drinks like orange juice. Another technique, this time known as grandmother's, to have white teeth: dip your toothbrush in baking soda about once a week, but not more regularly or you risk damaging your tooth enamel. Baking soda is a very effective solution, but again, it's really very important, no more than once a week. Finally, change your toothbrush regularly, before the bristles are worn because their effectiveness is less. Or just the bristles, if you had the good instinct to opt for the Caliquo toothbrush.

Alternative solutions for whitening your teeth

There are other alternatives, more or less expensive, alongside regular brushing for white teeth. Regarding food, we promise we won't lecture you for smoking and/or drinking a lot of coffee. However, we can only advise you to opt for certain cleansing foods at the end of your meal. For example, apples, whose acidity helps remove tartar, will be your best ally at the end of a meal to have white teeth. Flossing after a meal also helps eliminate some of the residue that gets stuck between your teeth and contributes to your dazzling smile. Finally, there are more expensive but very effective solutions that can be done at a dentist. The first is hydrogen peroxide whitening, a sort of mini-pressure washer for white teeth, which costs between 400 and 1000 euros. Alternatively, you can have veneers placed on your teeth, which cost 600 euros per tooth. But nothing beats a beautiful, natural smile, in our opinion.
