What is homemade liniment used for?
Homemade liniment is a liquid mixture (lime water, olive oil, and beeswax) that helps restore the skin's natural pH and protects the urine in the baby's diaper. It's also suitable for babies with dry skin because homemade liniment will moisturize their skin. Likewise, for skin with eczema and cradle cap, it will have a moisturizing effect.
For children, teens, and adults, you can use it as a facial cleanser and makeup remover. It will moisturize your skin. Kill two birds with one stone! You can eliminate cleanser, makeup remover, and moisturizer with just one product.
Liniment can be used on leather (shoe leather, sofa leather, car seats, etc.). Leather is a material that needs to be nourished. You can clean and remove stains from your leather with your homemade liniment.
How to make liniment?
- Lime water
- Olive oil
- Beeswax
Recipe for making your own homemade liniment:
- Melt the beeswax in the olive oil in a bain-marie
- Remove from heat when your beeswax is melted
- Gradually add the lime water off the heat
- Whisk gradually until you obtain a very light yellow-green cream.
- Using a funnel, place the cream in a container that you will use daily.
Making homemade liniment is child's play. As for storage, it should be kept for 2 to 4 months away from light.
